ATD Staff with Roberto Breda, Head Coach U.S. Latina Calcio

ATD Staff with Roberto Breda, Head Coach U.S. Latina Calcio

During a rainy trip to Italy, Arrington Training & Development Director, Matthew Arrington, and Coordinator, Dennis Schardt, visited Italian Serie B side Latina Calcio. The ATD staff were provided the opportunity to watch the team train and meet with head coach Roberto Breda. Breda is a former player himself, who had a notable career spanning nearly twenty years. He had playing stints at a number of Serie A clubs, including Genoa, Sampdoria, Livorno, Catania, Parma, and Udinese. Breda is a well respected player and coach worldwide and is held in extremely high regard within Italy. The Latina Calcio head coach was kind enough to sit down and talk to Arrington and Schardt after each training session that the ATD staff members viewed. "He (Breda) offered advice, encouragement, and well wishes for our program," Schardt continued, "I got the feeling that he believes in what we're doing. I hope we can get him to come visit our program and meet with our players and staff." Arrington had kind words for Breda as well, "It was nice to meet a coach of his quality and prestige, but I think the best part of it all was how personable he was. He gave us almost an hour of his time after each session, and I know he's a busy guy. He didn't owe us anything, he could have just shaken our hands and walked away, especially since he didn't even know us beforehand. For him to take that time for us, that says a lot about a person."
