Arrington training & Development (ATD) is offering a course focused on helping volunteer coaches better understand How to teach the fundamental skills of soccer. This is in an effort to more easily teach, communicate with, and coach young players. We find that when coaches are better educated and properly prepared, at all levels of the game - everybody wins.
5:30 - 6:00 - Goalkeeper training for coaches

SESSION I: The individual
Focused on one-player-one-ball situations. How to properly Dribble, gain mastery of the ball, add skills, and utilizing different surfaces of the foot.
March 30 (Sat), 5:30-7:30pm
SESSION II: Me to We
Progressing from one player’s mastery of the ball to tying in another player. Here we address passing and all the pieces that tie into it - foot shape, Types of passes, utilizing different surfaces of the foot, and timing.
April 20 (SAT), 5:30-7:30pm
SESSION III: Group Play
Here we move from two players to three. The emphasis now becomes on how we work within a team of players - combination play, spacing, movement off the ball, anticipation instead of reaction.
April 27 (SAT), 5:30-7:30pm
Each level will consist of explanations of these concepts along with exercises that you can use in your training sessions. All sessions will include one hour of on-field instruction and thirty minutes of ‘soccer-talk,’ where we will go deeper into understanding the day’s session, answer any questions pertaining to coaching, and share experiences.
